Waukesha’s latest caffeine stop is officially pouring. A freestanding Starbucks opened on Sunset Drive on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, bringing a new drive‑thru cafe to 137 W. Sunset Drive next to longtime neighborhood restaurant Kim's Garden and adding another coffee option to the shopping strip.
Where it sits
According to the Waukesha Freeman, the Starbucks is located at 137 W. Sunset Drive, directly beside Kim's Garden in the Presidents Plaza development. City planning documents show the store was approved in 2025 as a standalone retail building at Presidents Plaza under file Waukesha Legistar PC25‑0008.
What it offers
Plans called for roughly a 2,500‑square‑foot cafe with a drive‑thru lane and a large outdoor patio, according to BizTimes Milwaukee. The development team said the project was designed to bring the company's updated cafe format to the Sunset Drive retail corridor.
Local footprint
The new shop joins Starbucks locations on North Grandview Boulevard, East Main Street, West Moreland Boulevard and Longview Drive, plus two cafes inside local Target stores, the Waukesha Freeman reports. Together, those sites have made Starbucks a familiar stop for commuters and shoppers across town.
How to find it
For hours, menu details and store services, customers should check the Starbucks store locator. City records show the project was approved in early 2025 and the new cafe opened this week.
