
Following a police chase in Wauwatosa on Thursday afternoon, two individuals were apprehended in connection with an attempted homicide investigation from Kenosha. The chase unfolded after Wauwatosa police recognized a suspect vehicle on Capitol Drive and attempted to initiate a traffic stop just past 3 p.m. Ignoring police signals to pull over, the driver accelerated away, leading to the pursuit, as FOX6 News reports.
The chase, which stretched to near Milwaukee's McGovern Park at 49th and Eggert, ended after officers deployed a tire deflation device, commonly known as a spike strip, to disable the vehicle, as WISN detailed before the driver and his passenger bailed on foot in a fleeting attempt at evasion, both suspects were quickly detained by the police; fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries to responders or the general public.
The Milwaukee Police Department confirmed its assistance to the Wauwatosa police during the incident, with squads from both departments seen in the area, and local home surveillance footage obtained by FOX6 News showing law enforcement vehicles circling the vicinity. No additional details regarding potential charges have been released at this time regarding the two individuals taken into custody.
Authorities identified the primary suspect as 37-year-old Jeremy Williams, who faces charges including attempted first-degree homicide, recklessly endangering safety, and felon in possession of a firearm, charged these were outlined by CBS58, more charges related to the police chase could be leveled against Williams beyond the scope of the Kenosha incident. Despite the intensity of the events, no crashes or injuries were reported due to the chase and arrest operation.
