
Following a shooting on Brittany Lane, Tampa Police have swiftly arrested 19-year-old Jamarian Bradfield in connection to the homicide of a woman in her mid-30s. According to an official release from the Tampa Government website, the suspect was apprehended less than 24 hours after the incident took place.
On Yesterday, officers were dispatched to the 10900 block of Brittany Ln at 12:36 pm, following a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. Lifesaving attempts were made but failed, ultimately leading to her demise. Driving a 2015 Mercedes sedan, Bradfield was found at a nearby apartment complex, when officers actively searching for the suspect, located in the 10400 block of N 22nd St.
The investigation revealed that Bradfield and the victim, who were known to each other, had been involved in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting. "The swift apprehension of this armed individual is a direct result of the relentless work of our officers and investigators," Chief Lee Bercaw stated in the report. Bradfield had reportedly aimed a gun at the woman and threatened her before the tragic event unfolded. The victim’s name has not yet been released, awaiting notification of next of kin.
After Bradfield was found armed, he was promptly detained without further incident. The Tampa Police impounded his Mercedes and the weapon was confiscated as evidence in the ongoing investigation. Through their quick action, Chief Bercaw expressed hopes that the arrest "brings a sense of justice to the victim’s family as they navigate this senseless tragedy." Charged with murder, Bradfield now awaits trial at Orient Road Jail.
