Tejas Burger Joint is packing up its flat-top on Main and heading a few blocks over, trading its longtime home at 214 W. Main St. for a larger spot at 306 Market St. in Old Town Tomball. When the doors open there, the restaurant will debut a new name - Wise Guys Pizza & Burgers - and a sit-down setup that pairs its smoked-burger staples with wood-fired pizza, wings and a full bar. Owner Scott Moore said the move, targeted for March, should give the team a much bigger kitchen and more room for diners.
Speaking with Community Impact, Moore explained that the Market Street space already comes with a wood-fired oven, and that built-in perk pushed the rebrand and menu expansion. According to the outlet, Wise Guys will lean away from counter service and toward full-service dining, while keeping the Tejas burger hits on the menu. Community Impact also notes the team aims to finish the move in March.
Menu and space
Restaurant watchers already have Wise Guys circled on their 2026 must-try lists. The concept is being touted for its sit-down service, full bar and wood-fired pies. In a round-up of anticipated openings, The Houston Chronicle reports that the Smokehouse Burger will remain a fixture at the new 306 Market St. location even as the kitchen takes on pizza and wings.
Tejas' burger lineage runs back to Tejas Chocolate & Barbecue, where the Smokehouse Burger first built a following before Tejas Burger Joint spun off in 2019, according to Eater Houston. That same burger helped define the Tomball shop and is now set to bridge the gap between the old counter-service joint and the new Wise Guys format.
When it opens
Per Community Impact, the new address is 306 Market St., and the team expects to be operating there in March. Moore told the outlet the expanded kitchen should allow staff to handle both burgers and pizzas without bogging down service. The move will leave behind the familiar 214 W. Main St. space that Tejas Burger Joint has occupied since 2019.
