St. Charles Parish residents and travelers are facing a slew of road closures and construction work, with several major routes affected. Hwy 628 (CC Road) has been shut down from the KCS railroad to Hwy 61 since January 26, due to sheet pile driving work, and is set to remain closed until March 13. The same road will remain accessible from the KCS railroad to the spillway road and River Road, directing haul trucks, Cembell Industries, and Vickers Lane residents to use alternative routes through Spillway Road or River Road, according to the St. Charles Parish website.

Further disruptions are in place on Jonathan Street in Destrehan, which remains closed until further notice, with emergency traffic being rerouted via Bunge’s heavy hall road. Short Street in New Sarpy also faced a temporary block from St Charles Street to Terrace Street for drainage work until 3pm on February 4, complicating transit for emergency vehicles and buses.

Motorists are also dealing with changes on Ormond Center Court in Destrehan, which is impeded from 150 Ormond Center Court to 3001 Ormond Blvd due to ongoing construction. However, a detour is in place to facilitate passage through the area. LA 3127 is experiencing intermittent and alternating lane closures between St. James Parish Line and St. Charles Parish Line from November 3, 2025, through October 30, affecting traffic from 6 AM to 6 PM, as crews install drainage structures and perform an asphalt mill and overlay, as reported by the St. Charles Parish.

Additional lane closures on LA 3127 and 3160 were announced for utility work, with single lane and shoulder intermittent closures taking place from December 6, 2025, through February 27, 2026. These disruptions were announced with specific hours for weekdays and weekends. Moreover, asphalt patching operations are necessitating recurring single lane closures on LA 3127, from February 2 through February 6, and on US 61 (Airline Dr), from February 4, 5:30 PM, until February 6 at 6:00 AM, further adding to the tangle of traffic adjustments that drivers must navigate," the St. Charles Parish website explains.
