Tulsa Animal Services (TAS) has updated its adoption fees while keeping adoptions for larger dogs free. Cats and dogs under 50 pounds now have a $25 adoption fee, and puppies cost $50. Dogs over 50 pounds remain free to adopt.
According to the City of Tulsa website, the fees cover spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, and microchipping. Sherri Carrier, Shelter Director, stated that the changes aim to make adoption accessible while supporting animals that are harder to place.
TAS encourages adoption and is open to the public daily from 2 to 6 p.m. at 3031 N. Erie Ave., Tulsa, OK. Additional information is available on the TAS website.
