
A house fire in Halethorpe has left two residents and a firefighter injured, the Baltimore County Fire Department reports. The incident occurred last night on the 1200 block of Vogt Avenue, where firefighters encountered heavy flames overtaking the second floor of a single-family home. According to FOX Baltimore, crews were dispatched at around 9:32 p.m. after receiving reports of a dwelling fire.
In the chaos of extinguishing the blaze, an unconscious adult male was discovered by firefighters and promptly rescued from the building. WMAR-2 News reported that he was treated on the scene before being taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Concurrently, an adult woman found a way to safety by escaping through a window, aided by the quick thinking of neighbors.
The Baltimore County Fire Department also confirmed a firefighter sustained minor injuries during the response and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Details surrounding the firefighter's condition were not immediately disclosed.
