Two men from Texas, Eliberto Guajardo, 37, of San Juan, and Brice Strain, 43, of Houston, have been charged federally in connection with a drug trafficking operation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana announced the indictment, which includes conspiracy to distribute cocaine and firearms violations.

The indictment alleges that from June 2025 to January 27, the men conspired to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. On January 27, Strain was found in possession of a Glock handgun, which prosecutors say was used in connection with the drug offenses. Convictions could carry a minimum of ten years to life in prison for drug charges, and five years to life for the firearm violation, along with fines and supervised release.

The arrests were part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative and Operation Take Back America, with the FBI and Louisiana State Police assisting. Assistant U.S. Attorney Briana N. Williams will prosecute the case. Guajardo and Strain are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
