A Uniontown community is reeling after the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man, identified as Lemaur Thompson Jr. The incident occurred on Dunlap Street yesterday afternoon, drawing a swift response from the Pennsylvania State Police. According to WPXI, Thompson was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker confirmed Thompson's identity, and the hunt for a suspect, identified as 18-year-old Braedon Dickinson, is now being prioritized by law enforcement. After canvassing the scene, a description was released, characterizing Dickinson as a Black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build, who should be considered armed and dangerous. Witnesses last saw him on the street, which was where the shooting unfolded.
The connection between Thompson and Dickinson is not just conjectural. "The district attorney said Thompson and Dickinson were familiar with each other," as per WTAE. District Attorney Mike Aubele has implored the public to refrain from approaching Dickinson and instead to immediately call 911 if they spot him.
