West Allis faith communities are working together to address local social issues, including homelessness. On Jan. 22, representatives from 11 congregations met to discuss community outreach initiatives. According to the City of West Allis, participants agreed to explore reviving an interfaith coalition to coordinate resources and support services.

The meeting included over 20 attendees who discussed aligning with the homeless support coalition and creating a network to improve outreach and service delivery in West Allis.

Discussions will continue on Tuesday last week, at 6 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room 97 at the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation Center, 2450 S. 68th St. The meetings aim to develop coordinated strategies for community care and support programs.
