Milagro Taco Cantina has quietly traded in its quick-service vibe for a full-service, sit-down experience in West Dallas. Reopened in early February, the former order-at-the-counter taqueria now comes with a louder look, a longer menu and weekend brunch on the way. Owner Jesus Carmona says the mission is to keep the soul of his tacos while finally giving people a reason to linger.
Milagro Goes Full-Service
The once low-key white stucco storefront at Trinity Groves is now painted fire-engine red, and the dining room pops with bright green and orange walls. What used to be counter service has shifted to a server-driven "Mex-Tex" setup, with new menu additions like fajitas, old-school enchilada combo platters and a skirt-steak asada ala tampiqueña that lands around $28. Those changes are outlined in reporting by The Dallas Morning News.
New Menu, Old Favorites
Even with the makeover, Milagro keeps its calling cards, including pulpo octopus tacos and other seafood-focused street tacos, while layering on heftier entrees, brunch plates and snacks like flautas con mole and bone-marrow elotes. The restaurant’s online menu shows a weekend brunch section and daily specials alongside margaritas and frozen house drinks. According to Milagro Taco Cantina's menu, tacos still run about three for $14, with combo plates mostly in the $14 to $16 range.
From Tacos Mariachi To Milagro
Carmona’s latest pivot grows out of a familiar backstory. His earlier spot, Tacos Mariachi, grabbed national attention after a 2018 visit from Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, then ultimately closed during the pandemic. Milagro opened in 2021 as its successor and carried over many of the recipes that made the original shop a hit. Those roots were documented when the restaurant first launched, as reported by Eater Dallas.
Why Carmona Reworked The Space
Carmona told reporters that rising prices for steak, octopus and shrimp, about 25% higher last year, made the old counter-service model hard to keep afloat. He also wanted a setup where servers could nudge a second round of drinks and longer hangs. "I feel like I was just getting by," he said, adding, "I don't want to lose the essence." The Dallas Morning News also reports that Milagro plans to roll out weekend brunch starting Feb. 22, with chilaquiles, menudo and fajitas-and-eggs on deck.
What To Expect
Milagro sits at 440 Singleton Blvd., Suite 100 in Trinity Groves and stays dark on Mondays, with weekday and weekend hours listed on the restaurant’s site. Diners can expect a louder, more colorful dining room, the familiar taco lineup and an expanded cocktail program built to match the bigger plates.
