
A 67-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon on the 1900 block of West Green Street, turning a quiet Tampa neighborhood into an active crime scene, police said. Tampa Fire Rescue crews tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead where he fell.
Officers were dispatched just before 5 p.m. and arrived within three minutes, according to the Tampa Police Department. They found a Black man in his mid-60s suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators said early information suggests this was not a random attack. Detectives are collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and chasing down leads as they work to piece together what happened.
