Wedged between Highland Village and River Oaks District, the Houston-born concept is adding its sixth area location and giving the neighborhood one more place to linger over a stiff pour and a meatloaf that has its own proper name.
As reported by CultureMap Houston, the River Oaks outpost will officially open March 20 in the former Eloise Nichols storefront and stick to the playbook that made the brand a local fixture: classic American fare backed by a deep beverage list. “Our goal has always been simple... to create a place where every guest feels like family,” founder Matt Brice said in a statement quoted by CultureMap.

The Federal American Grill website lists the River Oaks address as 2400 Mid Lane and splashes an “OPENING MARCH 2026!!” banner across the new location's page, along with a dedicated phone line for the restaurant. CultureMap Houston reports that the chain's whiskey list tops 500 selections and that the River Oaks restaurant will pour a daily happy hour from 3 to 7 p.m.
