A Wilkinsburg man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly kidnapping a local woman and forcibly taking her to a bank to withdraw money. According to WPXI, 34-year-old Jermaine Turner is accused of the crime, which occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday.
It's reported that Turner knew the woman he's accused of kidnapping, and after the alleged incident at the bank, where she urged employees to call the police, Turner fled the scene. She was later taken to the hospital with severe facial injuries. In connection with the allegations, Turner has been hit with charges including aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, robbery, robbery of a motor vehicle, and terroristic threats.
The WTAE report goes into detail on the injuries sustained by the victim, noting she was allegedly punched, slapped, and scratched by Turner inside her home before the bank incident. Turner was apprehended by detectives from the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, alongside Zone 5 officers, and was found with a firearm upon his arrest.
Held at the Allegheny County Jail after his arrest on the 7300 block of Monticello Street, Turner was required to confront a wide range of charges.
