A woman sustained a facial injury in a suspected crossbow incident in Nassau County last Friday night, authorities said. Police responded to West Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m., where they found a 28-year-old woman with a graze wound to her face caused by an arrow, according to ABC7NY.
Authorities identified the suspect as 21-year-old Samy Sedhom and allege that he fired the arrow that struck the woman. As per News 12 Hudson Valley, the victim was transported to a hospital, where she is listed in stable condition. Sedhom was taken into custody at the scene and faces charges including attempted murder, stalking, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Sedhom also faced a charge of tampering with evidence in addition to the other counts. He was arraigned yesterday in Hempstead. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident.
Law enforcement officials have not released a detailed motive for the attack. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information may become available following the arraignment and further proceedings.
