A juvenile is in custody after another minor was stabbed yesterday afternoon on a quiet Converse street, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called just before 1 p.m. to the 6200 block of Tadpole Bluff near Walzem, where they found the wounded juvenile and detained a suspect. The victim’s condition remained unknown as of Tuesday night, authorities said.
According to FOX San Antonio, deputies were dispatched to the scene just before 1 p.m. yesterday, found the injured youth at the location and took another juvenile into custody at the scene.
As reported by KSAT, the detained juvenile faces an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Because the case involves juveniles, the sheriff’s office has not released ages or other identifying information for either the suspect or the victim.
Charges and legal implications
Under Texas law, aggravated assault covers attacks that cause serious bodily injury or involve the use or exhibition of a deadly weapon and is typically charged as a second degree felony. According to Justia, a second degree felony under Texas Penal Code Section 22.02 can carry a sentence of two to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
Many records in juvenile cases are shielded from public disclosure under state law. The confidentiality rules are outlined in Texas Legislature materials on Texas Family Code Chapter 58, which governs juvenile justice information and record handling.
