A Sunday night drive in Bradenton ended in deadly gunfire when two men were shot inside a car on 14th Street West, leaving one dead and another in the hospital as deputies search for a suspect.
What happened
Deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office rushed to reports of shots fired on 14th Street West and found a vehicle ringed by spent shell casings. Inside were two men who had been hit by gunfire. According to WTSP, a 27-year-old man died at the scene, while a 22-year-old man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Detectives told the outlet they believe this was a targeted shooting rather than a random attack, and investigators say they are still working to track down whoever pulled the trigger. No arrests have been announced.
