Honolulu firefighters were back in Aina Haina on Monday morning, attacking a building fire at the same property that went up in flames last year. Crews stayed on scene working to knock down the blaze while investigators started piecing together what happened.
According to Hawaii News Now, the Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a building fire in the East Oʻahu neighborhood and dispatched units to the area. The outlet shared video that showed firefighters working the scene.
Same Spot Burned Before
Monday’s blaze broke out at a location already scarred by fire. Last August, a Lawelawe Street home collapsed and an adjacent property was damaged in a destructive house fire. That incident, covered in Hoodline’s devastating Aina Haina fire report, resulted in no injuries.
Neighborhood Fire History
The neighborhood has seen several fire incidents in recent years, drawing repeated attention from investigators. According to the Honolulu Fire Department, a May 25, 2024 residential fire at 6004 Kalanianaole Highway in Aina Haina was ruled accidental, with energized electrical wiring cited as the ignition source.
Officials Await Details
