An all-you-can-eat wagyu spot called Wagyu House is on its way to the mall, promising premium cuts, tiered wagyu options, and a cook-it-yourself setup right at the table. The company has not yet shared when the grills will officially fire up.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Wagyu House "broadcasted its arrival" at 5085 Westheimer Rd through a social media post teasing an "ultimate All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu BBQ" experience. The Chronicle also notes that the restaurant still has not locked in or announced an opening date.

Galleria veterans may already know the address. The unit most recently held South African fusion restaurant Peli Peli, which briefly rebranded as Mozambik before closing in 2021, according to the Houston Chronicle. The space sits in the mall’s main dining wing and has seen a rotation of relatively short-lived tenants over the past several years.
Who's behind the concept
Wagyu House appears to be a project from Chubby Group, a U.S.-based hospitality company that lists multiple wagyu-centric concepts and dozens of multi-concept restaurants in its portfolio, per Chubby Group. The group’s brands include Chubby Cattle, Mikiya, and Wagyu House, and the company has been rolling those formats into shopping centers and regional dining corridors around the country.
What diners should expect
Across Chubby Group’s wagyu concepts, diners typically see tiered all-you-can-eat menus paired with interactive formats such as shabu shabu and tabletop grilling, as highlighted by sister restaurant Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House. The company’s AYCE wagyu expansion has already shown up in other markets, including a recent Bay Area debut where a wagyu stampede hits El Paseo, which suggests Houston could see similar tiered pricing structures and packed opening weekends.
For now, that "Coming Soon" listing is the strongest sign that Wagyu House is indeed headed for the Galleria.
