Temptations Lounge is living up to its name for all the wrong reasons after flunking an Arlington health inspection, while several other neighborhood spots landed uncomfortably low scores in a mid‑February sweep. Under the city’s 100‑point grading system, anything at 70 is considered extremely poor, and scores of 75 or below require follow‑up inspections.
As reported by the Fort Worth Star‑Telegram, Temptations Lounge, at 3701 S. Cooper St., received a 66 on a Feb. 18 inspection and was listed as failed. Inspectors cited an accumulation of grease and food debris on equipment, not enough water at a hand sink, several food items held at unsafe temperatures and an issue with a floor drain grate.
Other low marks in the same inspection wave
Per City of Arlington, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse (201 E. Interstate 20 Hwy) scored 73 on Feb. 12; El Mofongo (3701 S. Cooper St.) scored 73 on Feb. 19; Lau de 68 (2232 S. Collins St.) scored 73 on Feb. 18; and El Toro Sinaloense (1520 Nolan Ryan Fwy) scored 71 on Feb. 20. All of those land in the city’s lower performance bands and, according to the database, must be re‑inspected.
What the numbers mean
Arlington uses a 100‑point scale where 100 is a perfect inspection and lower scores reflect more or more serious violations. The Fort Worth Star‑Telegram notes that a score of 70 is labeled extremely poor and that any establishment scoring 75 or below is automatically placed in line for a follow‑up visit to verify corrections.
What comes next
City records show Temptations Lounge is scheduled for a follow‑up inspection to confirm issues have been fixed. The City of Arlington requires food and beverage permit holders to post their most recent letter‑grade certificate and inspection report where customers can see them, and inspectors can order closures if they find imminent health hazards.
