
Authorities in Buncombe County say a 10-month-old boy, identified as Enoch Chappell, died at Mission Hospital after he was found Thursday afternoon with multiple stab wounds. Deputies say the child’s mother, identified as Ciara Frederick, was taken into custody and is now facing a murder charge in connection with his death.
What deputies say
According to FOX Carolina, deputies and EMS were dispatched to Rocala Drive shortly after 2 p.m., where they found the infant suffering from multiple stab wounds. The outlet reports the baby was transported to Mission Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Charges filed
As reported by FOX5 Vegas, Frederick faces a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon tied to her son’s death. The outlet also published a detention-center photo of Frederick alongside its report.
