
A 75-year-old man was found fatally slashed inside an Astoria apartment building on Tuesday, according to police. First responders rushed to the scene after a 911 call and pronounced the victim dead inside the building. He was later identified by police as George Dourdounas, 75, who lived in the same building where his body was discovered.
According to PIX11, officers responded to 25-75 33rd St and found Dourdounas with slash wounds to his neck. Detectives quickly launched a homicide investigation and began processing the scene. Police said no arrests had been announced as of Tuesday.
Investigation Underway
Detectives from the NYPD's homicide squad canvassed the Astoria building for witnesses as the investigation got underway, police said. Investigators were reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with neighbors while working to piece together what led to the deadly slashing.
