Bellevue just cut the ribbon on its brand-new Fire Station 10 on Tuesday, the first ground-up fire station the city has built in nearly 30 years. The mayor, city manager, fire chief and councilmembers joined operational leaders for a small indoor ceremony as crews got ready to move into the bays. City officials cast the moment as a major upgrade for emergency coverage in downtown and Northwest Bellevue’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.
Ceremony captured in city video
A video posted by the city shows officials snipping a red ribbon inside the apparatus bay and posing next to Engine 110. The post, headlined “On Cloud 10!”, notes that crews will be moving into the new firehouse soon and that an open house is scheduled for April 25, according to City of Bellevue.
Where it sits and how it helps
Fire Station 10 sits in the 1200 block of 112th Avenue NE, just north of McCormick Park and alongside a wetland. The 20,000-square-foot station will house Engine 110, Aid 101, Medic 101 and Battalion 101. The city intends it to cut response times in Northwest Bellevue, downtown and the BelRed corridor, while also reducing extra “vertical response time” for high-rise incidents, according to City of Bellevue.
Design and sustainability features
Inside, the building includes crew living quarters, a public training classroom and an entry gallery that will display department artifacts. It is built with infrastructure for future electric engine charging and incorporates on-site wetland restoration. The project architect reports that the station is targeting LEED v4 Gold certification and Salmon-Safe practices to support both firefighter wellness and environmental stewardship, according to Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.
Final inspections and public access plans
Permit records show the fire-alarm permit for the project was finaled on January 13, 2026, indicating that final inspections have been cleared, according to permit records. The city’s video posted March 10 adds that firefighters will move in “soon” and confirms that an open house is planned for April 25, according to City of Bellevue.
Officials say the new station is designed to shave critical minutes off response times as downtown fills in with taller housing and workplaces. The facility is expected to go operational once crews fully occupy the building. Additional details and project updates are available on the Fire Station 10 project page, according to City of Bellevue.
