Brady St. is now being marketed to new tenants as Joy plans a relocation. A final closing date has not yet been shared, adding one more question mark to a stretch of Milwaukee’s Lower East Side that has seen a steady churn of businesses.
Owner Looks To Hand Off A Turnkey Cafe
In her Facebook message, Joy told customers, “As we begin planning a future relocation, we are exploring the possibility of passing this beautiful cafe to a new owner.” As reported by Urban Milwaukee, she describes the 1208 E. Brady St. address as a fully equipped, turnkey coffee shop that is ready for another operator to step into with minimal fuss.
A Little Slice Of Brazil On Brady
Sweet Joy first built a following as an online brigadeiro business before opening its Brady Street cafe in early 2023. The shop poured espresso drinks such as americanos, cortados and cappuccinos, and served Brazilian snacks including pão de queijo, coxinha, guava pastries and its signature brigadeiros, according to Sweet Joy Cafe’s website. Joy drew on years of pastry and chocolate work to shape both the menu and the warm, leafy interior that gave the cafe its easygoing charm.
