Heavy smoke and flames drew a multi-company response as firefighters scrambled to keep the blaze from spreading to occupied RVs and rental cabins. Authorities said there were no reported injuries.
What crews found on arrival
First-arriving firefighters found a maintenance building already heavily engulfed in flames, and at least one maintenance building was destroyed, according to Delmarva Now. Units were initially alerted at about 6:54 p.m. on Friday, and the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company led the on-scene effort, the outlet reported.
About the campground
The property, marketed as Sun Outdoors Frontier Town, is a large western-themed RV resort with cabins, a camp store, and maintenance facilities, according to the resort’s website. That mix of RVs, rental cabins, and outbuildings shaped firefighting priorities and likely complicated salvage and overhaul operations as crews worked to contain the damage.
