
Hillsborough County deputies are working a homicide case after a man was found shot to death last evening at an apartment complex along Lake Chapman Drive in Brandon. Responding to a disturbance call, deputies discovered a deceased adult male and quickly locked down the scene as an active homicide investigation.
What deputies say
According to a press release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers took a disturbance call at 5:43 p.m. yesterday. Deputies arrived at a residence in the 1800 block of Lake Chapman Drive and found an adult male dead from an apparent shooting.
Investigators say the gunfire followed an altercation inside the home. All individuals involved have been identified and accounted for, according to the agency, although no arrests had been made as of Monday night while detectives continued their work.

Local reporting has pinpointed the scene to the Lakewood Place apartment complex on Lake Chapman Drive in Brandon. FOX 13 reported the same details released by HCSO and identified Lakewood Place as the likely location of the shooting.

Deputies have not yet released the victim's name or any suspected motive. Investigators have also not said what sparked the altercation that ended in gunfire.
