Broadway Standard quietly flipped on the lights Monday in Grove City’s Town Center, turning the former Pontone’s Music space into a Southern-style breakfast and lunch spot that is clearly betting on early risers and weekend regulars. The new diner leans into home-cooked comfort with dishes like chicken and waffles, hoe cakes and fried green tomatoes, aiming to become a daytime neighborhood hangout for families, commuters and brunch crowds alike.
Hours and opening
According to Grove City Government, Broadway Standard is now open at 3911 Broadway and is serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Posted hours run from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with breakfast available until 11 a.m. The city’s Facebook announcement shared menu photos and confirmed that the restaurant is officially open to the public.
Who’s behind it
The business operates under Standard Restaurant Group LLC, and the Grove City Area Chamber lists Myles and Amanda Deschner as the operators. The chamber entry provides a local contact for the group and notes the team’s intention to build the concept with Grove City roots firmly in mind.
Menu, space and future plans
As reported by 614NOW, the menu is heavy on Southern classics, including chicken and waffles, fried catfish, biscuit flights and Tennessee hoe cakes. Site plans call for roughly 70 seats inside plus a patio that can accommodate about 40 guests. For now the focus is squarely on breakfast and lunch, but the owners have said they hope to extend hours down the line to add dinner service and a licensed bar.
Town Center momentum
The diner’s debut adds another entry to the growing list of new spots on Broadway as Grove City continues to build out its Town Center dining and retail mix. Grove City NewsFlash includes Broadway Standard among several recent and upcoming openings, highlighting steady investment along the corridor.
“We are looking forward to bringing our southern charm back to Ohio,” one founder said, nodding to the team’s hometown ties. That remark, along with earlier reporting on the concept’s Nashville to Grove City connection, was first shared with 614NOW.
