
A 61-year-old person is fighting for their life in intensive care after an assault inside a Chesterfield Township home yesterday, and one person is now in custody, according to police.
Officers were called to a residence on Williamsburg Lane at about 8 a.m. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where they were admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition. Detectives remained at the scene as investigators worked to piece together what happened, and authorities have so far released only limited details.
According to CBS Detroit, the person taken into custody following the assault was booked into the Macomb County Jail. The outlet reported that police said the victim was still hospitalized on Sunday afternoon and that investigators have not yet released the suspect’s name or any potential charges.
