Five people were taken into custody after a late-night vandalism spree tore through an L.A. Fitness gym in Santa Fe Springs on Tuesday, with police estimating the damage at more than $100,000.
Officers with the Whittier Police Department responded to a report of multiple people possibly breaking into the club and detained several individuals as they exited the building, according to KTLA. The five suspects were then transported to the Whittier Police Department jail, the outlet reported.

Photos released by investigators show an assortment of items allegedly tied to the vandalism: spray paint cans, paint caps, rollers, black gloves, a respirator mask, a backpack, and a hockey-style mask, according to the Whittier Police Department. The agency estimates the damage to the gym exceeds $100,000 and says an active investigation is underway.
Charges and what comes next
Authorities did not immediately release the suspects' names or specify what charges they might face, and it was not clear whether the gym had reopened following the incident, KTLA reported. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
