A 69-year-old Ocala man is being held without bond after deputies say he sexually propositioned a 14-year-old boy in a Circle K bathroom and briefly grabbed the teen’s arm. Authorities identified the suspect as Kevin Foster Daniels, who is facing charges of lewd or lascivious behavior by an adult and battery. Deputies say the encounter occurred on Feb. 21 at the Circle K on SW Highway 200 and was later detailed in an arrest affidavit.
According to ClickOrlando, deputies were called after the teen told store employees that a silver minivan had followed him to the gas station. Citing the sheriff’s office arrest affidavit, WKMG reports that the boy said a man came into the restroom, peered through the stall crack, and made sexual propositions before walking out. The station’s coverage also includes a copy of the affidavit filed by investigators.
What the affidavit alleges
Per the Marion County Sheriff’s Office affidavit, deputies documented reviewing store video, speaking with clerks, and later showing the boy a photo lineup as part of the identification process.
Investigation and arrest
Investigators used surveillance video, a photographic lineup, and location data to link the minivan and Daniels to the Circle K, ClickOrlando reports. Detectives interviewed Daniels on March 18. During that interview, he denied making sexual propositions and said he had only commented about urine on the bathroom floor, according to the station’s summary of the affidavit. Deputies say Daniels agreed to a search of his phone, and investigators then used location data from the device to build a timeline of his movements that day.
Charges and custody
The arrest affidavit states that Daniels was taken into custody and booked on charges of lewd or lascivious behavior by an adult and battery. He is currently being held without bond. The document describes deputies confronting Daniels with the victim’s account and the store video while questioning him. Court records will show whether prosecutors formally file the case and will list any upcoming hearing dates.
Where this fits
Marion County deputies have in recent years carried out a series of investigations aimed at adults who try to meet or exploit minors, including a 2025 operation that led to dozens of arrests. That broader focus helps explain the array of investigative steps in this case, from video review to phone location checks to formal lineups.
