The collision happened around 5:50 a.m. near North Hollenbeck Avenue and East Cypress Street and involved five vehicles, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Bystanders and the woman's rescue
A witness who jumped in to help told reporters the trapped woman “was just screaming the whole time that her husband was trying to kill her” as people fought to pry open the crumpled vehicle. Good Samaritans tried to pull at doors until fire crews arrived with tools and removed a door to fully extricate her. Emergency personnel evaluated the injured at the scene and took them to local hospitals, where they were expected to recover, according to FOX 11 Los Angeles.

Covina police said the crash appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute in which a husband was chasing his wife’s vehicle before the pileup.
