Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine just wrapped an eight-figure makeover, and the star of the show is a driving range that now looks a lot like a football stadium. Arcis Golf has converted the range into a stadium-style practice zone, added a custom 18-hole synthetic putting course and worked in a 50-yard stretch of game-used turf pulled straight from AT&T Stadium. The project also refreshed greens, bunkers and cart paths as part of a broader tune-up for the resort-style property.
According to the Dallas Business Journal, Arcis finished the multimillion-dollar overhaul this month and pegged the price tag as an eight-figure investment. The reimagined, field-style driving range and the new putting course are designed to appeal to more than just traditional golfers, with the Business Journal noting that the upgrades build on changes Arcis first publicized last year.
What Changed On The Range?
Cowboys Golf Club describes the new centerpiece as a 50-yard slab of authentic, game-used field turf purchased from the Dallas Cowboys and stretched across the range to resemble a football field. The club says the team also installed new target greens and updated tee complexes so the stadium visuals come with real practice value. The field section effectively turns every bucket of balls into a football-themed target session and puts the Cowboys brand in front of golfers on every swing.
Putting Course And Who Installed It
WinterGreen Synthetic Grass, the contractor on the job, reported that it wrapped installation of the 18-hole synthetic putting course along with the field-turf sections in late February. In a press release circulated via IssueWire, the company described the putting layout as engineered with realistic contours and built for long-term durability under heavy use. That work completed the most visible components of the renovation, according to the release.
Why The Cowboys Turf?
Arcis executives have pitched the football-style range as a way to make the club feel more inviting to corporate groups and casual fans, not only to serious golfers. "We get people who come in for corporate events at Cowboys Golf Club who desire the club to be more approachable," Blake Walker told D Magazine. The stadium turf creates an easy social-media moment for visitors and bakes a Cowboys tie-in directly into the practice experience.
What This Means For Golfers And Grapevine
Renovation work kicked off in June and was scheduled to finish by the fall, a timeline that required shutting down portions of the practice facilities for months, Community Impact reported. The upgrades, which include Toptracer-equipped hitting stations along with refreshed bunkers and greens, line up with Arcis' wider strategy of leaning into experiential features at its resort-style public courses. For Grapevine, the revamped club gives visitors one more reason to stick around the nearby hotels and entertainment strips.
Arcis, which lists its headquarters in Dallas on public records, has cast the Cowboys Golf Club redo as part of a larger effort to grow membership and event business, and the company has been active on capital projects across its portfolio.
