Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office rushed out Wednesday to an autoped incident near the 900 block of Cypress Station Drive that left a man seriously injured. Officials say the suspect took off from the scene but was later tracked down and arrested, thanks in large part to eyewitnesses who watched the attack and pointed deputies in the right direction, as reported by ABC13.

Deputies Say Old-School Police Work Sealed The Deal
According to HCSO D1 Patrol's post on X, deputies responded to an autoped near the 900 block of Cypress Station, where a suspect allegedly fled after seriously injuring a man. The post credits a combination of "great eye witnesses" and "good ol fashion police work" for helping deputies locate and arrest the suspect. The sheriff's office has not yet released the suspect's name or any information about potential charges.
What This Means For Cypress Station
Cypress Station has been a major focus of crime-reduction efforts for the sheriff's office in recent years. ABC13 reported in November 2025 that HCSO's Crime Reduction Unit had cut overall calls for service and violent crime by roughly one third since mid-2023. The department has also rolled out a Crime-Free Multi-Housing program in the neighborhood as part of its broader strategy.
Investigators with HCSO's patrol division are handling the case, and additional details, including the victim's current condition and any formal charges, have not yet been released. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call HCSO's non-emergency line, and to dial 911 for emergencies. This story will be updated when the sheriff's office releases more information.
