
A man was stabbed in broad daylight Saturday afternoon on the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue NE, according to police. Officers found the victim with multiple large lacerations to his left upper arm and the left side of his back and began rendering aid as DC Fire and EMS transported him to a hospital for treatment. As of Sunday morning, no arrests had been made and detectives were canvassing the area seeking witnesses.
The incident unfolded around 3:30 p.m., when the Metropolitan Police Department issued a lookout for a male suspect described as wearing black pants, dark shoes and a black jacket, carrying a satchel bag across his chest, and having multiple tattoos, as reported by DC News Now. Officers located the victim conscious and breathing at the scene and provided aid until medics arrived.

The 1500 block of Maryland Avenue NE has drawn Metropolitan Police Department attention before, including carjacking investigations and public alerts tied to the same stretch of road. The department's news releases show previous incidents in the area, including a 2025 request for public help after a carjacking, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police Searching For Witnesses
Detectives are continuing to follow leads and are asking anyone with video or information to contact the Metropolitan Police Department. As DC News Now reports, officers had not made any arrests as of Sunday morning and remained on scene.
