Winsupply is turning its Dayton roots into the launchpad for a major national growth push, with a hefty new investment at its Miami Township campus leading the charge. The company plans roughly 200,000 square feet of additional space at its local distribution hub while also upgrading into larger facilities in Atlanta and near Oklahoma City, moves company leaders say are meant to speed deliveries and bulk up inventory for local contractors across its network.
Industry outlet MDM reported Monday that Winsupply is set to add about 1.6 million square feet across three projects over the next two years. That includes a purchased 1.17-million-square-foot distribution center in Atlanta, a 254,000-square-foot expansion near Oklahoma City, and roughly 200,000 square feet at the Dayton hub. The company says the buildout is intended to strengthen service for the more than 680 local companies in its network, framing the move as a strategic push to strip out supply-chain friction and back its local owners with deeper stock and faster turns.
On the ground in Montgomery County, Dayton Daily News reported that Winsupply has filed to rezone a parcel next to its existing Byers Road complex and plans a roughly 200,000-square-foot building at 9300 Byers Road, effectively doubling the footprint of that site. The paper noted that Wilcon Corp., Roll & Associates, Burkhardt Engineering and Fabcon are lined up on the project, with construction slated to start in the first quarter of 2026. Company officials told the outlet the local build is meant as a clear signal of long-term commitment to the Dayton region.
As Dayton Business Journal reported Tuesday, Winsupply is packaging the Dayton, Atlanta and Oklahoma builds into a multi-year national expansion intended to support its local partners coast to coast. That coverage spotlights the Atlanta acquisition as the centerpiece of the plan and describes the program as an effort to accelerate deliveries and deepen inventory across the Southeast and south-central United States. Local contractors tied into the Dayton work say the project should give the region a stronger logistics backbone, which never hurts when you are trying to get critical parts on short notice.
What This Means Locally
Winsupply’s business model revolves around independent local companies that operate under its umbrella, and Dayton Daily News notes the firm shares equity with more than 650 partner companies nationwide. For Dayton-area contractors, the added square footage is expected to translate into faster access to plumbing, HVAC and industrial supplies and fewer out-of-stock surprises on tight jobs. Developers and suppliers told the paper the project could also provide steadier long-term work for local construction outfits involved with the expansion itself.
Timeline and Next Steps
Winsupply expects the Dayton addition to wrap up by the fall of 2027, and the company says the combined projects will reconfigure how inventory flows across its national network, according to MDM. With rezoning now in progress at the Miami Township site, local approvals and permitting will dictate how quickly crews can get shovels in the ground. Business and township leaders say they will be watching the permitting process and hiring updates closely as Winsupply’s blueprint moves from planning documents to concrete and steel.
