Swig, the TikTok-famous "dirty soda" chain, is going all-in on Pasco County. After landing two drive-thru spots in Lutz, the Utah-born brand is now pushing east toward Wesley Chapel, with franchise partners confirming a new site at Curley Road and Overpass Road in the Pasadena Hills area. Construction is underway, but the company has not locked in an opening date for the Wesley Chapel location.
Two Lutz Outposts Are Open
Swig has already planted its flag twice in Lutz, operating a Cypress Creek drive-thru at 25369 Sierra Center Blvd and a Sunlake-area shop at 19093 Wingshooter Way, according to Swig. The chain's November debut in the region and subsequent Lutz openings were chronicled by local outlet That's So Tampa, signaling that the brand is settling in for a longer stay.
Franchise Partner: Openings "Have Been Great"
"The openings have been great," said Shawn Larsen, one of the franchise partners behind the Lutz stores. He told What Now that the most likely next stop is Wesley Chapel. Larsen added that "construction has officially begun" at Curley Road and Overpass Road in the Pasadena Hills area, though he did not offer a timeline for when thirsty drivers can roll through.
Planned Wesley Chapel Site
The Curley and Overpass parcel sits in a fast-growing retail corridor that franchisees have been eyeing for drive-thru concepts, making it a logical play for a quick-service beverage operator looking to catch commuter traffic. The local franchise group said it is taking a phased approach, building operational consistency at the Lutz shops before rolling out additional Bay Area locations.
What Swig Sells And Why It's Spreading
Swig's menu stacks sodas with flavored syrups, fruit purees and creams to create dozens of signature mashups. Among the headliners are novelty drinks like the Texas Tab, The Founder and Shark Attack, concoctions that tend to pop on social media feeds. Observers say Swig's seasonal menu drops and social-first marketing have helped fuel demand as the chain expands beyond its Utah roots, according to Creative Loafing Tampa.
For those tracking openings, the franchise partners say they will share updates as construction moves along, and the company will announce an official opening date once it is ready. Fans can follow the brand on Instagram or keep an eye on the company's locations pages for the latest.
