Comer and the South Side Trauma Network

Comer Children's Hospital is the region's primary pediatric trauma resource on the South Side, receiving some of the most serious cases involving young patients. As reported by WTTW / Chicago Tonight, the University of Chicago's Level 1 trauma center, which opened in 2018, has reduced travel times for emergency care, and a study estimated it has saved dozens of lives in the hospital's service area.

Investigation

Chicago police said no one was in custody and investigators have not released suspect descriptions, according to ABC7 Chicago. Authorities have not provided additional details as detectives continue their probe.
