Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly shooting in east Las Vegas after a man was gunned down early Friday and died at the scene, authorities said. Officers responding to a 911 call found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds and tried life‑saving measures, but he did not survive. Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Section have launched an active investigation to sort out how a late‑night argument turned into a killing.
What police say
The department told reporters the shooting happened in the 2800 block of East Bonanza Road after a woman called 911 to report her boyfriend had been shot, according to News 3. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds; he died there despite efforts to save him.
The woman told investigators the victim had been outside his car listening to music when she heard people arguing, followed by gunfire, News 3 reported. Detectives are now working to piece together who was involved in that confrontation and what sparked it.
