808 Shave Ice, the Hawaiian-style shave-ice stand that opened in Fairview Park in 2017, will reopen this spring inside the concession stand at Bohlken Park as the owners prepare for their 10th season. The move keeps the popular Westside dessert spot in Fairview Park after the owners announced late in 2025 that the Lorain Road storefront would not reopen for 2026.
The new stand will take over the park’s concession building and sit roughly a mile from the longtime Lorain Road location, the owners said. As reported by Cleveland.com, the relocation keeps 808 on home turf while giving the business more breathing room for summer crowds.
In a statement quoted by Cleveland.com, 808 thanked Fairview Park leaders, singling out Mayor Bill Schneider and the city's recreation director, writing, "to say we are excited to be staying in Fairview Park is an understatement." The owners also told followers on their social channels that customers should expect "alternative packaging, mobile ordering, expanded food options, a new sister company, and an entire new product line"; those posts are on the shop’s Facebook.
Bohlken Park's perks for a summer stand
The city’s facilities listing for Bohlken Park highlights a covered pavilion, public restrooms, a new playground and ample parking, features that should make it easier for 808 to serve families, sports tournaments and festival crowds. Fairview Park's page for the park has the full amenities listing.
808's footprint and what to expect
808 Shave Ice already operates locations in Avon and Strongsville, a seasonal stand at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and a fleet of food trucks, giving the business multiple ways to serve customers while the concession comes online. Owners say they plan to mark the 10th season at the new site and will post exact opening dates and menu rollouts on their social channels.
Locals should see the concession open in May for the 2026 season, the owners say on social media, with park seating and easier parking making the move a boon for families and weekend visitors. Follow the shop’s Facebook for the exact opening date and menu rollouts.
