Two Arizona Lottery players walked away with a combined $210,000 on Wednesday after separate winning tickets were sold in Pinetop and Scottsdale, according to state lottery officials. One Fantasy 5 ticket hit for about $160,000, while a Powerball play brought in $50,000, continuing a recent string of mid-size payouts across the state this month.
As reported by KTAR News 92.3 FM, the Fantasy 5 top prize came from a ticket sold at a Chevron in Pinetop, and the Powerball ticket was purchased at a Jacksons Car Wash in North Scottsdale. The Arizona Lottery confirmed to KTAR that both prizes came from the March 25 drawings and that the total haul adds up to $210,000.
According to the Arizona Lottery, winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. For payouts of $600 or more, the Lottery directs players to complete a Winner’s Claim Form and either mail it in or visit the Phoenix or Tucson claims offices in person. Officials also recommend signing the back of any winning ticket and bringing proper identification when it is time to collect.
Where the winning tickets were sold
KTAR identified the Pinetop retailer as the Chevron on White Mountain Boulevard. Mapping listings show that station at 971 E. White Mountain Blvd in Pinetop, according to MapQuest. The Powerball ticket was sold at Jacksons' Raintree location in North Scottsdale, and Jacksons lists that address as 14717 N. Northsight Blvd. Neither store had a public statement available to media as of Thursday evening, so for now the winning reactions are staying at the counter.
What winners should do next
The Lottery urges anyone who thinks they might be holding a winning slip to check their tickets now and sign the back of anything that looks like a winner. The next Powerball drawing is this Saturday, March 28, with an estimated jackpot of about $166 million, KTAR reports. If you have a prize coming, follow the Arizona Lottery’s claim instructions and contact the claims office for guidance so you do not leave any money on the table.
Arizona Lottery officials note that ticket sales help support state programs including higher education, health and human services, and conservation, which means wins like these ripple beyond the two lucky players.
