A quiet stretch of Sanders Road in Glenview turned into an active crime scene Monday afternoon as the North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force moved in to investigate an incident that left one person injured.
Glenview police and paramedics were dispatched just before 12:10 p.m. to 3100 Sanders Road after a 911 call reported an injured person. Officers secured the area while the victim was taken to Lutheran General Hospital. Crime-scene tape went up, emergency vehicles crowded the roadway, and a helicopter circled overhead as investigators got to work.
According to ABC7 Chicago, police did not immediately release any information about what led up to the incident or the injured person’s condition. The station reported that Chopper 7 was above the scene at about 2 p.m., and that Glenview police are asking anyone who may know something to call the department tip line at 847-901-6055.
Task force called in for major cases
The North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force, commonly called NORTAF, is a regional unit that assists north-suburban departments with homicides and other serious investigations. The team has been activated in Glenview before, including a high-profile death investigation last March that brought in NORTAF support, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
How residents can help
Anyone with information about Monday’s incident is urged to contact the Glenview Police tip line at 847-901-6055, officials said. Investigators are asking witnesses or nearby residents who may have seen or heard anything to speak up as the case remains under active investigation. ABC7 Chicago is expected to update its coverage as authorities release more details.
