What troopers say happened

Troopers say the driver tried to make a left turn onto Quail Pond Street and hit the two pedestrians as they crossed in a marked crosswalk. Both were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, and the woman was later pronounced dead.
Investigation and road closures
Florida Highway Patrol troopers set up a roadblock on northbound Goldenrod Road at Quail Pond Street while they gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses, according to WFTV. Local station WESH also reported that Florida Highway Patrol confirmed both pedestrians were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center and that investigators have not released additional details about what led up to the crash.
