Early Sunday on Jacksonville’s Westside, a quiet stretch of Ryan Avenue turned into a crime scene when a man in his early 20s was shot, taking bullets to his upper thigh and even his middle finger. Police say his girlfriend rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in stable condition as investigators work to figure out who opened fire and why.
JSO Responded To The 400 Block Before The Victim Arrived
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers were called around 4:40 a.m. to the 400 block of Ryan Avenue after multiple gunshots were reported. When they arrived, they found several shell casings scattered in the roadway. A short time later, a man in his early 20s showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper thigh and middle finger, and officers say his girlfriend had driven him there. The victim remains in stable condition, and detectives have not yet been able to interview him as they review nearby surveillance footage, according to Action News Jax.
