A 19-year-old man is dead, and another teen is in the hospital after an early-morning shooting along the eastbound lanes of I-14 in Harker Heights. Police say two gunshot victims showed up at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday. One of them was in critical condition and later died, and the case is now under active investigation by local detectives.
The Harker Heights Police Department has identified the man who died as 19-year-old Sedell Barrios of Harker Heights. The second victim, also 19 and from Killeen, was initially treated at Seton and then transferred to Baylor Scott & White in Temple for additional care. Detectives say the shooting happened along the eastbound side of I-14, and they are looking for a dark-colored Nissan sedan believed to be tied to the suspect or suspects. The department’s Criminal Investigations Division is leading the probe, according to FOX 7 Austin.
“We urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to contact the department at 254-953-5400,” Harker Heights Police Chief Sonja V. Clay said, as relayed to FOX 7 Austin. As of now, police say no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have dash-cam, surveillance, or cellphone video from the eastbound I-14 corridor early Sunday morning to check their footage and pass along any possible leads.
