What police say
In a wanted notice on X, the Houston Police Department identified Sierra and said he is charged with murder in the 2024 shooting at the Texaco on Hempstead Highway, according to the Houston Police Department. The social media post lists HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 and directs anyone with information to the department's Crime Stoppers account for anonymous tips.
How the case unfolded
According to a Houston Police Department news release, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the gas station on Aug. 9, 2024 and found an unresponsive man who was later pronounced dead. Detectives later arrested 50-year-old Juan Luis Herrejon and charged him with murder in the 182nd State District Court. Investigators recovered video tied to a red two-door pickup, and the release noted that a second, unidentified suspect remained at large.
How to pass along tips
Anyone with information on Sierra's whereabouts is asked to call HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477), via the Crime Stoppers app, or at Crime Stoppers of Houston. Crime Stoppers states that tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward in qualifying felony cases.
What happens next
Being named in a wanted alert indicates there is an outstanding criminal charge. If Sierra is located, he would be booked into Harris County custody and face prosecution in state court, as occurred after the August arrest in this investigation.
