The Empire Polo Club in Indio is getting a rare off-season jolt next year, as Goldenvoice rolls out a one-off electronic music festival called Head Trip on October 10–11, 2026. The two-day blowout will be headlined by Calvin Harris on Saturday and Swedish House Mafia on Sunday, with Skrillex and a packed roster of back-to-back DJ sets rounding out the card. Promoters are selling the weekend as an immersive, single-stage experience anchored by Floating Points' Sunflower Sound System, turning the Coachella grounds into a focused, ear-obsessed dance bunker for one fall weekend.
Lineup and format
Goldenvoice has unveiled the full lineup for Head Trip, pairing arena-sized heavyweights with underground tastemakers for the October 10–11 run at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. According to EDM.com, the festival is being billed as a one-time-only, single-stage event with no overlapping sets, so fans will not have to choose between dueling acts or sprint across the field to catch a favorite drop.
Sunflower Sound System and production
The visual and sonic centerpiece is set to be the U.S. debut of Floating Points' Sunflower Sound System, a domed listening installation lined with mycelium acoustic panels and tapestries by Josephine Chime. As TicketNews reports, the rig uses 10 custom speaker stacks and will host Floating Points along with surprise guests throughout the weekend. Organizers say the setup is designed to favor meticulous sound and a shared, single-room feel over the usual multi-stage spectacle that turns festivals into choose-your-own-adventure marathons.
Tickets, rules, and travel
Passes go on sale Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m. PT. The festival’s official site lists Head Trip as an 18+ event, with multiple pass tiers and a payment-plan option for those budgeting their big weekend. The site also notes that venue doors open at 3 p.m. each day, with general parking lots opening at 1 p.m. Hotel packages and shuttle passes are already available through the festival’s hospitality portal, a hint that organizers expect plenty of out-of-towners to descend on Indio. For specifics on camping, shuttle logistics, and ADA access, festivalgoers are directed to the official information pages.
Local context
Head Trip is the latest in a series of short-run specials Goldenvoice has staged at the Empire Polo Club following Power Trip in 2023, once again turning the Coachella grounds into a fall destination rather than a spring-only playground. Pollstar notes that while the format nods to past desert gatherings, this one leans fully into dance music, trading sprawling genre mashups for a concentrated two-day rave where the main character is the sound system itself.
