One lucky ticket sold in Jacksonville was the only Florida Lottery top-prize winner from Wednesday’s big draws, turning a routine stop at the register into a roughly $125,212 payday. The Fantasy 5 Evening ticket matched all five numbers, 6, 9, 10, 16 and 27, while the rest of the statewide games that night came up empty for top prizes.
Where the winning ticket was sold
The winning slip came from a gas station convenience store at 1790 State Road 13 in the Jacksonville area, according to the Miami Herald. That outlet described the seller as a Mobil-branded station at that address.
Local TV coverage later pointed to a different brand on the same corner. Action News Jax identified the retailer as a Circle K at that State Road 13 location.
Numbers and payout
Wednesday night’s Fantasy 5 Evening draw produced the winning combination 6, 9, 10, 16 and 27, according to The Associated Press. Only one ticket matched all five numbers, and local reports put the estimated top prize for that slip at about $125,212.
How to claim the prize
That kind of six-figure win sits in the Florida Lottery’s mid-range payout tier, which means the money cannot be cashed out at the corner store. Per the Florida Lottery Winner’s Guide, prizes between $600 and $1,000,000 are typically claimed at a district office rather than at a retail terminal.
The Jacksonville District Office, listed in the Florida Lottery office resources, is located at 8206 Philips Highway, Suite #36, and keeps weekday hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local pattern: small stores keep scoring
This kind of lone Fantasy 5 jackpot is not exactly rare in Florida, where modest-sized retailers keep popping up as the only big winners on a given night. Hoodline has tracked several of those one-ticket hauls around the state, including a Lauderdale Lakes Walmart that snagged its own solo Fantasy 5 hit. For a recent example, check out the coverage of that store’s Sunday’s lone Fantasy 5 jackpot.
If there is even a chance you are holding the Jacksonville winner, grab a pen before you grab your keys. Sign the back of the ticket, then validate it at a retailer terminal or through the official Florida Lottery app, and call the Jacksonville district office to plan your visit. Keep the original signed ticket somewhere safe, since draw game prizes have to be claimed within a limited window under Florida Lottery rules.
