JINYA Holdings is rolling out a polished new flagship on West Hollywood’s La Cienega dining strip, betting that locals are ready for a more elevated take on its Japanese comfort food. The restaurant is set to blend the company’s ramen roots with izakaya-style small plates in a larger, street-facing space that aims more for date night than quick slurp-and-go.
Flagship details
According to L.A. Business First, the West Hollywood flagship will merge JINYA’s ramen and izakaya concepts in a nearly 5,000-square-foot restaurant on North La Cienega Boulevard. The outlet reports that the company is positioning this as a more upscale expression of the JINYA brand, framing the move as a return to the chain’s underlying "essence" rather than a departure from its identity.
Location and filings
Public liquor-license paperwork, along with local reporting, pins the address at 826 N. La Cienega Blvd. A company representative told What Now Los Angeles that the concept will include a dry-aged meat and seafood program in addition to ramen. What Now also noted that the team was initially eyeing a late February or early March opening window, a timeline that had not been publicly confirmed at the time of their report.
Menu and design hints
L.A. Business First reports that the flagship plans to pair ramen bowls with an expanded lineup of izakaya-style small plates, backed by a more refined dining room than guests might expect from typical JINYA Ramen Bar locations. The larger footprint is expected to give the group room to build out a broader beverage program and lean into a more formal sit-down experience than its smaller, fast-casual outposts.
Why La Cienega?
La Cienega has become a magnet for destination dining, and recent openings like SUSHISAMBA’s sky-high rooftop highlight West Hollywood’s appetite for experiential restaurants. Local coverage also points to city programs and one-time restaurant grants designed to help neighborhood operators manage rising costs, conditions that could make the corridor more workable for ambitious, higher-cost build-outs like JINYA’s new flagship.
When to expect it
OpenTable currently lists "JINYA - West Hollywood" as "Coming Soon" at 826 N La Cienega Blvd. The company previously told local outlets it was aiming for a late February or early March debut, but there has not yet been public confirmation of either a soft opening or a grand-opening date, according to What Now Los Angeles.
What this means for JINYA
JINYA Holdings already runs several concepts around Los Angeles, including Robata JINYA and Saijo, and the West Hollywood project appears to be its play for higher-margin, destination-style dining. Company materials highlight a robatayaki and izakaya heritage that JINYA says will help shape the menus at its larger, more curated locations, with this La Cienega flagship positioned as a showcase for that side of the brand.
