
Late-Night Chicago Lawn Clash Leaves 22-Year-Old Shot In The Head
A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life after an early-morning argument on Chicago’s Southwest Side ended in gunfire, leaving him shot in the head in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
Police said the shooting happened just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of West 61st Place. The man was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
According to WGN-TV, the confrontation was between the victim and a woman he knows, though investigators have not yet determined who actually pulled the trigger. Officers canvassed the block, looking for witnesses and any security cameras that might have captured the shooting.
Police Seek Tips From Witnesses
The Chicago Police Department has asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact Area Two detectives at 312-747-8273 or submit an anonymous tip online, according to the Chicago Police Department. Officers urged neighbors to review doorbell and other security camera footage and to reach out to police if they saw anything or have video from around the time of the incident.
Investigation Ongoing
Responsibility for the shooting remains unclear, and detectives were still interviewing witnesses and processing the scene, WGN-TV reported. Investigators have not released a suspect description or identified a motive, and officers emphasized that the case is active as they sort through conflicting accounts of how the argument turned into a shooting.
