Before sunrise on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, a Lexington home became the center of a major police response after a report of a shooting. When first responders went inside, they found an adult woman who had died and a juvenile male with critical injuries. The child was rushed to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. An adult male suspect was located in the area after a K-9 search, taken into custody, and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to a post from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home near the 9300 block of Ryan Place at approximately 12:52 a.m. Multiple agencies responded, including Centennial Lakes, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Lino Lakes, and Fridley police, along with the Anoka County and Ramsey County sheriff’s offices and Allina EMS. The incident does not appear to be random, and authorities say there is no known ongoing threat to the public.
Investigation and medical examiner
The investigation is being led jointly by the Centennial Lakes Police Department and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. The county’s Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office will oversee identification of the victims and any post-mortem work.
